Privacy Policy

How information is handled when you visit Dr. Bam’s Books and explore Bamtopia.

Effective date: October 13, 2026

1. Who we are

This notice explains how Dr. Bam Books, Inc. (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles personal information in connection with drbambooks.com, the website for Dr. Bam’s Books and Bamtopia.

Website: drbambooks.com
Privacy questions and requests: our contact form

This notice covers this website and inquiries sent directly to us. Independent booksellers and other websites have their own privacy policies.

2. Information we handle

Contact messages. Our contact form is intended for parents, caregivers, educators, and other adults. It asks for a reply email, inquiry topic, message, and adult acknowledgement; a name is optional. Please include only what we need to answer you. Do not include a child’s full name, school, photograph, location, health information, or other identifying details.

Technical information. Delivering a website request makes information such as an IP address, browser or device details, requested page, and request time available to the hosting infrastructure. Hostinger provides the website’s hosting and content-delivery infrastructure. Technical records can support delivery, troubleshooting, and security.

Browser settings and caching. The Bamtopia homepage stores your animation choice locally under dbam-motion-paused. LiteSpeed Cache also uses a cache-variation cookie and short-lived session storage to deliver cached pages. The Cookie Policy explains these items.

Reading a story introduction does not require an account or a purchase. The public book pages do not provide child profiles, public comments, or child-upload features.

3. Why information is used

We use contact messages to answer questions, handle permissions or event inquiries, respond to website feedback, and process privacy requests. We use relevant technical information to deliver and maintain the website and investigate technical or security problems. The animation setting remembers a choice you make; caching settings help deliver the appropriate cached page.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, ordinary adult inquiries and website operation may rely on our legitimate interests, subject to visitors’ rights. Processing may also be needed to handle a requested contract-related matter or meet a legal obligation. Where an activity requires consent, it must have an appropriate consent process before it begins; visiting the website does not by itself provide that consent.

4. Service providers and disclosures

Hosting and delivery. Hostinger supplies hosting and content delivery and processes the technical information needed for those services.

Contact handling. Fluent Forms processes submissions within our WordPress website. Messages are stored in the site’s form-entry records and can be delivered through the site’s configured email service so we can respond. Authorised people who manage inquiries may access those records.

WordPress, LiteSpeed Cache, and Fluent Forms are software used on the website. Their presence does not by itself mean that their developers receive the contents of your inquiry. An additional cloud integration would have its own processing role.

We may disclose information when applicable law requires it, in response to valid legal process, or when reasonably necessary to investigate abuse or protect legal rights and website security. Our contact channel is for handling inquiries and privacy requests, rather than building children’s advertising profiles.

When you follow a link to an independent website, that website may receive technical information about your visit and collect information under its own notice.

5. Parents, caregivers, and children

Bamtopia is a children’s storytelling world. The book pages can be enjoyed without creating a child’s account, sending a child’s story or photograph, or posting public comments. The contact form is for adults, and asks senders to acknowledge that they are adults. This acknowledgement is not a substitute for any parental-consent process required by law.

Website requests and caching can involve technical identifiers. These need to be considered as part of children’s privacy, even when a child does not complete a form. The motion preference stays in the visitor’s browser; the supplied homepage code does not transmit it to us.

We do not ask children to provide personal information through the contact form. If we learn that a child’s personal information has been received without parental permission required by applicable law, we will restrict further use while we investigate and delete it unless a lawful reason requires retention.

A parent or guardian can use our contact form and choose “Privacy request” to ask about information relating to their child, request review or deletion, or ask us to stop further collection or use. We may need information reasonably necessary to verify the request and parental authority. Do not send identity documents unless we explain why they are necessary and provide an appropriate submission method.

Any future feature that requires parental notice or consent must have that process before collection begins.

6. How long information is kept

Contact inquiries are kept for the time reasonably needed to respond, deal with related follow-up, and meet applicable recordkeeping or legal obligations. Form-entry records, notification emails, and replies can be separate copies. A deletion request should identify the inquiry concerned so those copies can be considered together.

The contact form does not set an automatic deletion deadline for entries. Information no longer needed for the purposes above should be removed through the form and email systems. Hosting logs and backups follow the provider’s operational retention arrangements; removing a live form entry does not immediately erase a separate backup.

The cache-variation cookie has a two-day lifetime. LiteSpeed’s session-storage items last for the browser tab’s session, subject to browser behaviour, and the saved referrer item is removed when the script reads it. The motion preference stays until cleared or removed by your browser. See the Cookie Policy for details.

7. Security and processing locations

We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the website and information involved, including HTTPS for the public pages and restricted administrative access to contact records. No website or email system can guarantee complete security. Do not send passwords, payment details, identity documents, or sensitive personal information in an ordinary inquiry.

Hosting and email services can use international infrastructure. Information may be processed in the countries where the relevant providers operate. Where applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer, those safeguards must be part of the relevant service arrangements.

8. Your choices and privacy requests

You can choose not to submit a contact message, change or clear the animation setting, manage browser storage, and decide whether to follow links to other websites. Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or an objection to particular uses of your personal information. If processing relies on consent, you can withdraw that consent without affecting processing already lawfully carried out.

Use our contact form, choose “Privacy request,” and describe the information or activity concerned. We may need to verify your identity, and responses are subject to applicable law and lawful exceptions. You may also have a right to complain to the relevant privacy authority.

9. Changes and questions

We will update this notice and its date when the website’s practices change. Additional notice or consent will be provided where applicable law requires it. For questions or parental requests, use our contact form.
